Job Description

JobSpecificationResponsible for overseeing ElectricalEngineering activities in NFS Onshore Project, ensuring all technicalrequirements such as project specifications, data sheets, etc. are in fullcompliance with project requirements, standardised processes, and are deliveredto the highest technical quality standards.Key Job Accountabilities

  • Accountable for ensuring execution of work istechnically aligned and in compliance with Operations, Policies, Standards ofBusiness Conduct and Project Management System.
  • Perform a cold eyes review of key electricalFEED deliverables
  • During the ITT phase, provide technicalinformation/clarifications requested by the bidders.
  • Leads electrical engineering design andplanning activities and ensures EPC contractor develops detailed design inaccordance with local regulatory requirements, industry standards, projectspecifications and any approved variations.
  • Resolve electrical discipline issues to ensureengineering design addresses NFS Project?s expectations and objectives. Communicateand elevate issues before they escalate to Project Management when necessary.
  • Review, evaluate and advise on electricalsimulations, optimization, in compliance with design methods, safety factors (forLarge Electrical Generation and Distribution System, Large motor drivers, VFDsin both Motoring and Generating modes, combined cycle power generation, HVswitchgears, Electrical Integrated Control System (ELICS) and Power managementSystem for Generation, Load sharing and Distribution Control).
  • Review technical aspects of electrical equipmentpurchase orders with EPC Contractor and vendors in accordance with the rolesand responsibilities stated in applicable contract(s) to ensure safe andseamless integration of new electrical equipment into the existing operatingfacilities (when applicable).
  • Assess discipline plans and work schedules to ensureeffective completion of project activities and provide data (narrative, charts,graphs), change management recommendations and recovery plans to address any scheduledelays.
  • Develop, update and amend design / projectphilosophies, specifications and procedures ensuring that all references toElectrical Engineering are current and relevant.
  • Monitor and provide guidance to EPC Contractorto ensure key discipline deliverables, progress/milestones are met. Recommendadditional technical support where necessary to address gaps.
  • Coordinate and analyse discipline issues forresolution. Provide Electrical Engineering input to other engineeringdisciplines, construction, procurement etc as necessary. Support commissioning,start-up and system completing activities and make appropriate recommendationsto management on Electrical matters.
  • Plan and schedule Electrical Engineeringdeliverables to enable efficient execution in meeting projectmilestones/schedule.
  • Leads Electrical interface coordination withNFS offshore, NFE onshore, RLIC, and Kahramaa power supplier, or any thirdparty, as required, during the NFS ITT and EPC phases.
  • Contribute to Safety analysis studies such asSAFOP, HAZOP or HAZID and provide the required input to support projectmanagement in key decisions making. Participate in sharing lessons learned,together with capturing current lessons learned to benefit future projects.
MinimumRequirements
  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering orequivalent.
  • 15 years? experience of ElectricalEngineering, preferably in a major LNG Project. Broad knowledge of engineeringexecution including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, onshoreLNG facilities and utility systems design, construction and operations.
  • Requires demonstrated broad Electricalequipment and systems experience (HV/MV/LV electrical systems design, transformers,switchgear, power management systems, electrical system controls for reactiveand active power sharing, power distribution control, large Motors, 40MW ) and familiarity withrelevant manufacturing processes and relevant industry codes.
  • High voltage and large-scale onshore powerdesign requirements.
  • Experience with EPC contractors,sub-contractors and vendors involved in the oil and gas industry.
  • Demonstrated ability and sensitivity to workwith people from variety of culturalbackgrounds.
