Assists in the monitoring aspects of laboratory operations which include, but not limited to: Housekeeping, Calibration and Scale Verification, Formula Verification, Logbooks, and Batch Records.
Documents results, specifications and procedures in a standard professional format.
Writes, reviews, and approves production batch procedures and monitor pilot and scale up batches. Oversees batches throughout the manufacturing process.
Timely communicates all information regarding formulation, project status, costing, results, etc. to management with respect to the confidential nature of the project.
Works directly with purchasing new and existing ingredient from suppliers and helps source raw materials.
Organizes and ensures accurate and reliable filing systems for all the operations related to the lab or manufacturing facility.
Maintains a working knowledge of cosmetic regulations for cosmetics/active ingredient regulations.
Creates standards with which a laboratory must comply in order to gain accreditation.
Assists in the approval of all raw materials and new chemicals including proper documentation for storage.
Assists in preparing materials for production, samples for testing, submission, retention and stability program. Also follows up accordingly for test results.
Works with current team on improving equipment and capabilities of the experimental lab on site and the quality control procedures performed in it.
Provides review and support to QC/QA on manufacturing and product development activities and product deviations (out of specification, out of tolerance).
Keeps up to date on best practices and procedures in the field of personal care cosmetics.
Continues to improve the quality of existing products and methods.
Ensures effectiveness and quality of our preservative systems and understanding industry developments.
