Review the Health, Safety and Environment Orientation presentation material to ensure applicability to facility and scope
Plan the orientation sessions based on the contractor?s mobilization scheduled dates;
Conduct H&S training and ensure that employees/ contractors have the right training before commencing activities on site
Familiarize himself with all the requirements of SNC-Lavalin Global Health & Safety and Environment Management Systems;
Undertake the activities required by the Health & Safety and Environment plans like inspections, audits, participation to meetings and so on;
Issue and control work permits
Maintains current, daily knowledge of all active areas, records and reports as per H&S requirements
Monitor site workers (both SNC-Lavalin and Assigned Contractors) and visitor?s compliance with the Health & Safety and Environment plans requirements
Escalate to the Facility Manager and Operations Manager any factual refusal to implement SNC-Lavalin Global Health, Safety & Environment Requirements
Coach contractors and/or participate to fill applicable reporting forms included in the Health & Safety and Environment Plans
Compile all the contractors? monthly reports to complete SNC-Lavalin monthly report and then communicate it to the Regional HSSE Manager
Fully responsible for all H, S & E required documentation and filling
Work closely with all employees and sub-contractors to understand the work requirements and lead JSAs Responsible for continuously updating risk registers by advising any upcoming activities that are not covered in the initial register
Ensures the necessary supply, maintenance, operation, and availability of safety, medical and firefighting equipment
Ensure contractors have the required PPE, set up and tools prior to work commencement
Responsible for following up on Leading Indicators jointly with the Project Manager/Director
Lead JSAs as requested and maintains records
Issues disciplinary measures when required, interrupts work if necessary and notifies the contractor accordingly
Assists in incident investigations and follow-ups on corrective actions
Ensures communication with the Contractors H&S officers
Informs Facility Managers of H&S issues to ensure compliance with contractual obligations
Participates in meetings in which H&S topics are discussed
Communicates H&S issues/initiatives using posters, notices, etc.
Ensures that all leading indicators are applied by training SNC-Lavalin employees and contractors
Works towards achieving the lagging indicators targets by controlling, training and following SNC-Lavalin Global Health & Safety and Environment Management System
Qualification & Experience :
Bachelor?s degree, formal courses of study in OHS (first aid training, safety professional and risk management).
Minimum of 3 years of experience in OHS Environment
