JOB DESCRIPTIONWood has an opportunity for a Principal HSE Advisor to join our team in Qatar on a long term basis. This is a key role within the Wood Doha office delivering across study, FEED, EPC and PMC scopes of work. In this role, you will be responsible for the execution of project work in accordance with the project execution plan, including Wood and/or Project Procedures on Safety and Quality Control within the man-hour, cost and the project schedule targets. Reflecting the market focus for the office in both brownfield and green field opportunities, multi-skilled personnel are sought, in particular those with experience in Onshore Oil and Gas with a level of offshore Oil and Gas project knowledgeRESPONSIBILITIESProviding strategic advice and guidance to their Managers on all HSE related mattersRolling-out of Group HSE annual objectives and initiatives and development of company HSE objectivesProviding support to Business Unit/Contract/Project Managers and HSE Advisors in the development and roll-out of Group HSE objectives and other initiativesProviding support to senior Managers in incident and accident investigations through the use of an appropriate Investigation process (e.g. Helix or Taproot)Monitoring best-practice and developing leading-edge HSE initiatives as appropriate to the business they are supportingCompletion of Management Support Visits to installations and work-sitesProviding support to senior Managers and HSE Advisors in the timely reporting of both leading and lagging HSE IndicatorsUndertaking lagging indicator reviews of incident/accident trends and providing timely advice to senior Managers and Corporate Management on actions and initiativesProviding mentorship and training for graduate/new recruits into the HSE team as appropriateProviding cross-Business Unit support as requiredCarrying-out HSE Inductions for New-startsDeveloping HSE presentational material to support inductions and Group initiativesQUALIFICATIONSQualifications:University Degree in Technical, HSE or related industryDegree in relevant technical, industry or HSEQ specific disciplineNEBOSH Certificate/Diploma (essential)NVQ Level 4 IOSH (desirable)Trained and competent Internal Auditor (essential)Trained and competent External Auditor (desirable)RCA - Accident/incident Investigator, e.g. Helix/Taproot (essential)Knowledge, skills and experience:15+ years in a technical role, or association with HSE role in another industry.Lead HSE advisor experience with project/contract experience in O&G or other industryExcellent working knowledge with relevant legislation and regulationsGood planning and organizational skillsEffective/competent MS Office Suite UserHigh level of communication skills in both written and spoken formatPersonal attributes:Demonstrable commitment to company and client valuesCommitment to HSE and in particular safety and assurance and the need to drive down incidents and accidents across the IndustryCommitment to continuous improvementStrong communication and networking skillsTrustworthy and approachableHighly developed influencing and interpersonal skillsQatar experience is mandatoryCandidate must be willing and able to drive company vehicle to siteMust be able to visit onshore and offshore sitesDesired Candidate ProfileEducation:Bachelor of Laws (LLB)(Law)Gender:nmNationality:Any Nationality
