Job Description

The HGV Technician role in Doha, Qatar, is a vital position within the automotive repair and support services industry. This position requires a skilled individual with a strong background in heavy goods vehicle maintenance and repair. The technician will be responsible for ensuring that all vehicles are in optimal working condition, adhering to safety standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing and repairing a variety of HGV systems, including engines, brakes, and electrical systems. This role not only demands technical expertise but also a commitment to providing excellent customer service and maintaining high-quality standards.Responsibilities:

  1. Perform routine maintenance and inspections on heavy goods vehicles to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  2. Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in HGVs using diagnostic equipment.
  3. Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed on each vehicle.
  4. Collaborate with other technicians and staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of repairs.
  5. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding vehicle issues and repair options.
  6. Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies related to HGV maintenance and repair.
  7. Assist in training junior technicians and apprentices in best practices for HGV servicing.
  8. Ensure that the workshop is kept clean and organized, adhering to health and safety standards.
  9. Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  10. Report any unsafe working conditions or equipment malfunctions to management immediately.
Preferred Candidate:
  1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in HGV maintenance and repair.
  2. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  4. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  5. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  6. Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  7. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends if necessary.
  8. Commitment to continuous professional development.
  9. Valid driving license for heavy vehicles.
  10. Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards.
