Elementary IT Instructional Support Specialist (2021-2022)

Job Description

JOB GOAL:This individual provides training and support on technology and content integration, to the teachers at AIA.? In addition, this person will support students as they create projects and complete classroom assignments and have an active role in the classroom. The employee assists with identifying and acquiring hardware, software, and network products, leads classes on the coding for students K-12 and assists in the creation and implementation of the AIA technology plan.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:?

1. Planning and Facilitating Teaching and Learning

?

• Collaborates with instructional staff and teachers to develop curriculum materials and specific lesson plans that integrate technology

?

• Models the integration of technology in all curriculum areas

?

• Facilitates school participation in technology programs and activities such as coding

?

• Conducts professional development in areas of technology integration, models the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) standards as they are being articulated at AIA

?

• Collaborates with the school media specialists to provide leadership in the school?s use of instructional technology resources to enhance learning

?

• Follows a plan for professional development and actively seeks out opportunities to grow professionally

?

1. Planning and Facilitating Information Access and Delivery

?

• Implements best practices related to technology use in the school program based on research, pilot programs, and ISTE standards

?

• Works with the principal, IB coordinators and school leadership team to provide access to technology resources and services of the technology facilitator at point of need

?

• Works with teachers and technology staff in the selection of resources that are compatible with the school technology infrastructure

?

• Assists with planning the design of the technology infrastructure so that information resources are continually available to the school community
• Adheres to and communicates copyright as well as other laws and guidelines pertaining to the distribution and ethical use of all resources

?

1. Planning and Facilitation of Technology Programs

?

• In concert with the ICT Coordinator, provides leadership and collaborates with other departments to develop, implement, and update an instructional technology plan aligned with the AIA philosophy

?

• ?In concert with the ICT Coordinator, collaborates with principals, teachers, media and technology staff, and students to evaluate and select resources addressing curricular needs and learning goals

?

• Leads in the ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of the instructional technology program

?

• Prepares and submits accurate reports as required

?

• Carries out non-instructional duties as assigned and/or as needed

During the Establishing Period, March. 2016- August 2016, the focus of the work will be on the following tasks:

1. Engage Implementation:

1. Arrange stakeholder meetings and relevant trainings
2. Facilitate the development and documentation of business requirements for all aspects of Engage (e.g., admissions, teacher interface, time table, room utilization, assessment ?)
3. Configure Engage system to meet identified needs
4. Facilitate User Acceptance Testing and adjust configurations as needed
5. Raise and follow-up on tickets with Engage help-desk for necessary modifications
6. Perform ad-hoc trainings and refreshers for staff

1. HR system implementation:
2. Function as IT SME during HR system implementation
3. Provide basic support to end-users
4. IT Procurement Assistance:

1. Assist in identifying user requirements for IT hardware (e.g., short throw projectors)
2. Assist in defining school ICT infrastructure requirements
3. Assist in evaluating ICT offers from the end-user perspective
