Job Description

Job Purpose:The SQL Server DBA is expected to administrate and support MS SQL Server Databases in a business criticalproduction environment where the operating requirements are in line with the mission of the company. Improves thequality of service and perform DBA tasks as Subject Matter Expert(SME) based on best practices.Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Takes active responsibility in installation, configuration and administration of SQL Server (Ver. 2008 to 2019).
  • The SQL Server DBA is responsible for the availability of all clustered and non-clustered databases
  • SQL Server DBA is an expert in Troubleshooting MSSQL Clusters (Active/passive , AlwaysOn-AG).
  • As part of Ogranization?s business continuity plan prepare and setup DR sites by configuring SQL Server Log shipping or other tools.
  • SQL Server integration and Administration for Server Objects (Linked Servers).
  • Highly experienced in Database Administration including its security.
  • The SQL Server DBA is expected to tune and optimize resources. He should have a thorough understanding of MSSQL Server Licensing
The DBA
  • Actively monitors the databases in HeadQuarter and DR sites
  • Works on SQL Server security aspects not limited to patching, syslog and Audit.
  • Should upgrade SQL Server as per business needs
  • Follows up for back-up and restore procedure.
  • Provides Production and Implementation support for SQL Server.
  • Mentors, train?s & develop juniors and coordinate their tasks.
