Job Description

Data AnalystThis is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Data Analyst who has the skills and knowledge to answer the ?so what? from our data. You will be working with staff, systems and data. You must have a passion for numbers, Excel and turning data into informationBasic Qualifications:

  • University Degree or equivalent in Computer Science/Engineering or other related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Competency to create and maintain complex SQL queries.
  • Worked with a BI Visualization tool
  • Python and R experience would be an advantage
  • Excel (including VBA in Excel and charts)
To be successful you will need:
  • Essential - Experience in an analytical role (using data to communicate insights and support decision making)
  • Essential ? Communication skills ? A proven ability to work with decision makers to understand their key questions and present findings in a way that compels them to action
  • Essential ? Expert level Excel skills, including presenting compelling insights and demonstrating performance against a baseline, or other relevant comparator
  • Essential ? Expert PowerPoint skills ? including being able to distil complex findings into a short and impactful presentation that can change minds
  • Essential - Adaptability and a willingness to develop flexible solutions to provide answers for the business at speed
  • Highly desirable ? Curiosity and a desire to leverage data to solve problems, a natural ability to think differently and be persistent in search of answers
  • Essential ? The ability to work as a team; helping your colleagues and bringing enthusiasm to the role
  • Highly desirable ? A strong willingness to learn new skills and develop your Excel and Analytical skills and to teach others
  • Desirable ? Super user experience of an analytics tool e.g. PowerBI etc
  • Desirable ? Experience of working in an education environment
  • Desirable ? Experience of using SiMS
