Job Description

Position SummaryUnder the guidance and supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI), supports activities related to ethical research practices which includes collecting data related to the subject, reviewing, and drawing inferences to support changes to research-based documents and educating the staff on research ethics through training.Job Responsibilities

  • Gathers and interprets data related to human subject research and research ethics in general.
  • Reviews IRB databases to identify, select, extract and summaries data related to ethical issues.
  • Liaises with other institutions and HRPP offices (locally and internationally) to initiate collaborations, data collection and analysis.
  • Reviews and identifies unclear or undefined research ethics policies, procedures, or guidelines to recommend changes.
  • Analyzes various regulations governing human subject research in the region and complex ethics matters; and compare them with other regions.
  • Collects and analyzes the generated data from surveys, draft presentations, and highlights concerns.
  • Builds and organizes data as requested by the principal investigator, using common statistical programs for the data analysis.
  • Develops and implements an education and training program for ethics in research.
  • Supports with presentations, manuscripts, writing proposals for grants applications.
  • Supports in the production of surveys and experiments for the research community, review committees and HRPP offices.
  • Assists in identifying funding opportunities, drafting funding proposals and reports. Drafts and tracks budget projections versus account expenditures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
