Job Description

Position SummaryOversees activities within the library relating to scholarly publications including open access, citation services, and institutional repositories. Additionally, assists with circulation, resource sharing, reference services, and collection maintenance.Job Responsibilities

  • Recommends print, digital, and online collection materials, including open access, open educational resources, and open datasets, and monitor ongoing collection relevancy.
  • Assists with administrative processing of open access materials and collections.
  • Integrates collections within learning management systems.
  • Collates data, research, and news for current awareness and distribute in conjunction with liaison librarians.
  • Leads/coordinates citation services with additional understanding and outreach regarding emerging publication types, predatory publishing, classification, and formatting, integration of publications within institutional repositories.
  • Advises/trains faculty members on organizing/referencing their research, maintaining researcher/author profiles etc.
  • Oversees depositing of materials into institutional repository including checking copyright, author?s rights, and editing metadata in conjunction with Knowledge Integration team.
  • Advises on issues of copyright, intellectual property, and license agreements.
  • Provides basic consultations on funder requirements and international scholarly communication agreements in conjunction with Data Management and Scholarly Communications librarians.
  • Leverages partnership with Faculty Affairs and Research divisions to improve service delivery.
  • Maintains library guides and training materials, including regular content updates.
  • Maintains, troubleshoots, and trains users on scholarly communication-related software.
  • Assists with activities relating to resource sharing including interlibrary loan and document delivery.
  • Provides reference and research support.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.
