Job Description

The Applied Research Center for Environment and Marine Studies at the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, invites applications for a researcher position specializing in data science, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning and mathematical data optimization. The incumbent will complement existing faculty strengths, and should demonstrate an excellent analytical and computational competency along with good communication and team working skills, while maintaining focus and be able to work independently in an interdisciplinary field of research. The position requires working with people from different cultures, and the ability to analyze huge datasets and synthe scientific reports. For more information about the department, please visit: Job Responsibility The candidate is expected to conduct multidisciplinary projects at the planning, development and implementation phases. He should have a strong background in his field of expertise.

  • Develop and enhance the capability with respect to Cloud computing/AI/ML/Bigdata.
  • Designing and developing tools and software with regards to Earth and Environmental system sciences.
  • Working experience in mathematical data optimization techniques, algorithm design, statistics, and machine learning to improve decision-making capabilities.
  • Experience in implementing AI/ML/Bigdata for the land, ocean, atmospheric, climate change applications.
  • The candidate should also have strong analytical skills strong computing skills (Linux, and a scientific scripting language such as C, C++, Python, MATLAB)
  • Consulting and Advisory Experience is a must.
