Reporting into the Project Director, a charismatic, technically strong person who has passion and energy, you will be one of two project managers and will oversee the general contractors consortium who are building the monorail. There is a lot of complex structures and elevated sections that need to be built correctly, a huge amount of rail systems safety and communications that also is a challenge.But with your previous skills and experience on metros or elevated Light Rail schemes, youll already know this! Youll be client facing, working with the Egyptian Transport Authority, who are enthusiastic if a little inexperienced, youll work with the contractor on site, making sure they are progressing to program, with the right quality and safety, and youll link in with the design consultants, proactively ensuring this is a successful project.As well as being involved in one of the worlds most exciting, challenging urban rail schemes, you will also be part of a great multi-cultural team, youll be working for a global leader who can give you long term opportunities around the world and you will have a great deal of autonomy and freedom to do the role as you see fit.The package on offer is good for Cairo an economical place to live and work ranked 126th out of 209 of the worlds major cities so the package on offer can give you a very comfortable lifestyle and leave enough to save or send back to your home country. The package on offer is US$180,000 per annum gross (coving all elements), which after Egyptian income tax is net around 11,500 USD per month.Youll need to have the following to be considered for the role:You MUST be degree qualified in Civil Engineering or similarYou MUST have minimum 15 years post-graduate relevant working experience in Metro, Rail or Light Rail / MonorailYou MUST be available to start work in Cairo within 1 month of accepted offerYou MUST have proven experience in a project management capacityIdeally be chartered or a member of a recognised project management bodyIts a pretty impactful opportunity for the right person, so please get in touch and we can discuss in more detail.
