As Food and Beverage Supervisor you are responsible to provide professional and customer focused service to our guests, ensuring their dining experience will become a memorable experience. The Job incumbent works in line with the hotels guidelines and business plan, and Wyndham Hotel & Resorts Corporate policies and procedures, and according to local requirements and regulations.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESOperational: (In consultation with Restaurant Manager)· Assists with staff hiring, supervision, scheduling, training and development· Ensures all relevant policies and employment practices are followed in banquet and F&B departments· Assists in receiving and checking all F&B orders to ensure accuracy and adherence to specifications· Helps supervise inventories· Helps supervise the cleaning and maintenance of F&B facilities and equipment· Assists in investigating and resolving any food quality or service complaints· Regularly inspects all F&B outlets and storage areas to ensure that health and safety regulations are met· Assists in monitoring F&B budgets and controlling labor and food/beverage costs· Stays informed of and communicate special requests or last-minute changes that will affect either the food production or service for an event· Maintains knowledge of local competition and general industry trends· Be knowledgeable about the duties and responsibilities of all F&B positions; be able to fill in wherever and whenever needed· Solicits feedback from customers on a regular basis· Conducts daily briefings for the F&B department· Supervises the restaurant floor during peak times to ensure guest satisfaction and staff support· Other responsibilities or projects as assigned by the Food & Beverage ManagerLAWS, REGULATIONS AND POLICIES· Ensures compliance with business operations laws· Ensures compliance with hospitality operations laws· Supervises closely all applicable rules of safety in the workplace as well as all statutory laws of the country and local municipality laws.QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM· Develops quality management systems· Measures the quality of services and products· Manages quality improvement· Establishes bench marking for the departmentASSOCIATE RELATIONSFosters and develops effective associate relations throughout the hotel· Establishes and maintains effective internal communications, including weekly meetings with own staff to ensure optimum team work and productivity· Looks for ways to motivate and challenge staffQUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM· Ensures that all potential and real hazards are reduced immediately· Fully understands the hotel’s fire, emergency and bomb procedures· Ensures that emergency procedures are practiced and enforced to provide for the security and safety of guestsLEADERSHIP· Maintains a business environment based on Code of Conduct and Company Vision· Maintains and enhances the open door policy to all associates providing advice and guidance when needed in regards to their issues or concerns and/or grievances· Responsible for People leadership of direct reports (and their teams) recruitment and selection, performance management (Appraisal/ PDP), associate development and motivation, counselling/ disciplinary issues.· Conduct regular coaching sessions/1:1s with direct reportsExperience neededMinimum 1 year in a similar role, preferably with hotel background.
