The primary duties and responsibilities of the?Sr. Correspondent?include?, but are not limited to:Suggests relevant and significant story proposals at editorial meetings.Initiates and conducts original interviews with senior officials, decision makers and experts.Evaluates/analyzes leads and tips to develop story ideas.Cultivates and maintains credible news sources.Writes scripts and oversee production process to ensure broadcast quality.Presents live or taped interviews and voice-over reports in studio or field.Follows up on previous reported stories for updates.Develops original, imaginative and creative ways to tell/show news stories and features consistent with the MBN mission.Coordinates news coverage activities with News management, producers, camera operators, and editors. Alerts news management of major and/or breaking news.Works quickly and accurately to meet daily deadlines in a fast paced environmentDelivers breaking news with accuracy and urgency.Edits or assists in editing videos for broadcast.Reviews all reports for balance, clarity and objectivity to ensure they are free of bias and advocacy.Reads and edits news copy to ensure that they are free of slanderous, libelous content.Conduct appropriate and in depth research for difficult story assignmentsAdapts quickly to changing priorities and breaking newsStays in constant contact with the Assignment desk, Planning desk and producers.
