Job Description

JOB PURPOSETo provide support to policy and programme activities that effectively meet food assistance needs.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Design quality evidence-based programmes that build resilience in communities through sustainable Rural Livelihoods using various activities including Food for Asset with a strong focus on enhancing climate change adaptability and mitigation as well as value addition. Develop and outline the operational plan, business processes, monitoring and reporting in line with the CO resilience strategy
  • Lead and manage the implementation of activities under the resilience portfolio, including managing expenditures, fund consumption and invoicing (in coordination with relevant units), tracking the transfers to beneficiaries, and supporting the monitoring and evaluation of activities
  • Provide supervisory support and technical guidance to programme staff involved in implementing the FFA livelihood and resilience programmes in the CO and Field Offices, as needed
  • Support the Head of Resilience in developing and outlining the strategic direction of the resilience and livelihood portfolio for the Country Office, including the planning and implementation of 3PA specifically SLPs and CBPP based on ICA
  • Engage with Field Offices, UN agencies and Government counterparts (mainly Ministry of Water Resources, Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Environment) at national and sub-national level to identify partnerships and project opportunities
  • Support in the development of project and funding proposals for resource mobilisation and donor engagement
  • Develop and implement capacity strengthening activities for relevant CO and SO field office staff on the planning, implementation and monitoring of activities to ensure that interventions are consistent with guidelines and standard operational procedures, including undertaking field visit to support project implementation
  • Assess the training needs of relevant Partners staff and design and organize appropriate capacity development activities
  • In coordination with the Head of Resilience and working with the Donor Relations unit develop regular donor engagement to provide updates and reports to highlight the implementation progress and impact
  • Support development of call for proposals, their analysis and presentation to the Cooperating Partner Committee (CPC); work with partners on elaboration of the respective FLAs until their finalization and support the ongoing and end FLA evaluation
  • Liaise with and represent WFP at all relevant working groups and clusters (RWG, Livelihoods cluster) as necessary
  • Any other duties as required
