Network Transmission Engineer Supervisor

Description Zain Iraq is Actively recruiting to hire a Network Transmission Engineer Supervisor responsible for assisting in the planning and implementation of Network activities while providing coaching and guidance to subordinates.

• Understand and participate in the development of Network Strategies and plans and participate in the achievement of objectives and targets
• Implement and suggest improvements to the Network policies and procedures
• Review periodic reports submitted by subordinates and provide feedback and recommendations for improvements
• Plan, organize and prioritize workloads in order to ensure efficient use of resources and timely completion of tasks
• Keep abreast of the latest networking technologies and ensure subordinates are aware of the same
• Carry out assigned activities in specified areas as instructed by the Head of Technology Departments and Units and with minimal direct supervision
• Supervise and coach team members to ensure optimal performance is achieved and provide improvement recommendations as required
• Check the weekly MW links capacity utilization reference to Zain criteria and the required actions to solve the high utilized links, follow up the execution with the relevant team
• Check monthly the compliance of the transmission network with Zain Iraq and Zain Group planning and design guidelines and take corrective actions and follow up their execution with the relevant teams.
• Check and approve the transmission network connectivity and capacity designs and MW links designs related to the operational network changes and ongoing projects.
• Check the solution, designs, and Bill of Quantity of the new projects submitted from the vendors. Approve them or share the comments to be updated and resent
• Attend meeting with the other departments to discuss the inter-departmental issues and follow up on the action plans
• Support the B2B team with respect to the new PBAX (voice connectivity) customer links, coordinate the site survey, and E2E link implementation.
• Develop his/her skills by enrolling in different training programs and using the state-of-the-art tools in the daily work.
• Develop network efficiency enhancement plans in terms of better performance with less cost.
• Supervise his/her teams (in-house or outsourced) daily activities and assign tasks to them according to the work requirements.
• Enhance network availability, SPOF, capacity, and redundancy using new techniques and utilizing current network elements
• Report to his/her manager on daily basis on the progress of his/her assigned tasks, and highlight any stoppers/obstacles.
• Build good relationships with his colleagues from other departments for a better work environment.

• Bachelors degree in Electrical/Electronics/communications or similar field.

• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience with at least 2 years in a similar role
• Presentation skills including working on MS PowerPoint
• Professional in MS excel including advanced capabilities
• Professional in Pathloss 5 MW network design software tool
• Professional in MS word & Visio
• Experience in Mentum-Ellipse transmission & MW networks planning and design tools is preferred and an added value
• Minimum 5 years experience in transmission planning and MW network design field
