Description Zain Iraq is actively recruiting to hire a Fixed Asset & Inventory Senior Accountant are responsible for the delivery of day-to-day accounting services and for the provision of guidance and advice within their own specialism in order to ensure that services within the specialism are delivered to the required standard. This requires the management of a team around operational targets.

• Understand and participate in the development accounting strategy and plans and participate in the achievement of objectives and targets
• Implement and suggest improvements to Accounting policies and procedures in order to ensure the fulfilment of organizational requirements whilst delivering high-quality services
• Review periodic reports submitted by subordinates and provide feedback and recommendations for improvements
• Provide support to subordinates, motivate, and participate in their appraisals for the efficient use of human resources
• Develop a thorough understanding and appreciation of Accounting policy, procedure and practice in the organization in order to be fully competent to undertake own role
• Gather information for use in research and analysis in order to assist the department to provide advice and assistance to internal and external customers
• Assist in policy formulation when requested to do so by providing options and recommendations within specific terms of reference that are defined by the supervisor
• Perform general accounting activities requiring gathering, entering, analysing, and reporting on financial transaction to ensure the accuracy and the effectiveness of the financial records
• Apply techniques and standard practices to the classification, recording and analysing of financial transactions
• Draft segments of statements and analytical reports to provide supervisor with necessary information used by upper management for decision-making purposes
• Prepare standard reports for review by the supervisor such as cost reports, trial balances, balance sheets and profit-and-loss statements
• Prepare and consolidate periodic reviews and commentaries relating to report items of particular interest for the clarification of issues and decision-making
• Maintain contact with clients/vendors/suppliers/ personnel for requesting/supplying /explaining/monitoring credit/data and securing information to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial information and payments
• Monitor daily expenditures/purchase orders/cash flows and compare with the budget/forecasts to ensure deviation is avoided and proper utilization of resources is enforced
• Supervise and provision training to new staff and ensure work activities are carried out as required and on-time Investigate client financial statements and provide inputs and reports with concerned parties while handling cases of financial disputes with clients having accounts suspension
• Communicate with commercial entity to gather information regarding doubtful clients financial states and act upon results
• Recycle suspended accounts and manage to get payments and escalate case to legal team if all other solutions fail to happen
• Recommend changes to existing processes and systems for use within the unit and produce reports that set out new approaches to work that will improve operational capability
• Assist in the development of junior staff through the provision of coaching and contributing to development planning

• Bachelor?s degree in accounting or finance-related field or equivalent

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with at least 2 years in a similar role and Has knowledge in sales audit and inventory processes
