Job Description

Description Zain Iraq is Actively recruiting to hire big data Hadoop Specialist using Cloudera distribution, hortonworks, or any Bigdata management tool that should perform jobs like Hadoop cluster Management, install/configure and monitor the Hadoop cluster, backup, recovery, and maintenance of cluster, creation, and removal of nodes with HDFS support and maintenance, Bigdata administrator should capable to perform day to day operation to ensure the cluster up and running with performance tunning. Should also have enough skills to develop solutions and use cases on Big Data and BI Data warehouse platform.

  • Deploying a Hadoop cluster, maintaining a Hadoop cluster.
  • Adding and removing nodes using cluster monitoring tools like Cloudera Manager, Hortonworks, or any different monitor tools.
  • Configuring the NameNode high availability and keeping a track of all the running Hadoop jobs.
  • Implementing, managing, and administering the overall Hadoop infrastructure.
  • Takes care of the day-to-day running of Hadoop clusters.
  • Capacity planning and estimating the requirements for lowering or increasing the capacity of the Hadoop cluster.
  • Deciding the size of the Hadoop cluster based on the data to be stored in HDFS.
  • Ensure that the Hadoop cluster is up and running all the time.
  • Monitoring the cluster connectivity and performance.
  • Manage and review Hadoop log files.
  • Backup and recovery tasks
  • Resource and security management
  • Troubleshooting application errors and ensuring that they do not occur again.
  • Responsible for BigData connectors installation and maintenance.
  • Responsible to enforce the data migration policy within the organization.
  • Proficient in Linux scripting and also in Hive, Oozie and HCatalog, Kafka, Flume
  • Knowledge of OOP languages like C++, JAVA, and Python.
  • Create technical design documents detailing appropriate specifications related to projects.
  • Responsible for daily/weekly/monthly backup plans and working with the support team in parallel to ensure the service.
  • Responsible for Follow-up on ongoing projects and providing enhancement methods on existing systems.
  • Knowledge and experience in the data warehouse development lifecycle are preferred.
  • Certifications from Cloudera and Hortonworks are preferred.
What Do You Need to Qualify Educational Qualifications
  • Master/Bachelors degree in IT, computer science, or related fields
Experience
  • 5 years of relevant experience in a similar/equivalent position, at least 5 years experience in telecom operators preferable experience in consulting and working in the MENA region.
