Job Description

The Laser Operator runs and operates the CNC laser to fabricate quality parts in an efficient timely manner. The Laser Operator loads and unloads parts while inspecting features cut by the laser while detecting any malfunctions in the machine or defects in the parts. This position sets up and runs production while maintaining the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, all while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment. Candidates with experience operating Messer Laser Cutting Machine using OmniWin software is preferable.Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Select and set up lenses based on material type and thickness, load programs, and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Operate the CNC laser cutting machine and other machinery used in the production process or assist other machine operators.
  • Stage raw materials at each work center for the day?s production.
  • Load and unload machines.
  • Knowledge about shield gases used during laser cutting operation.
  • Lift raw materials, final products, and items packed for shipment, manually, or using hoist.
  • Monitor fill level of bulk tank system and report reordering levels to the supervisor.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with fast-changing priorities.
  • Work with automated loading and storage system.
  • Keep work area clean and organized.
  • Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
  • Follow all company rules and policies.
  • Follow all safety rules and quality standards.
  • Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Assemble items as instructed by shift leader or floor supervisor.
  • Prepare product for shipment when requested.
  • Uphold all ISO and OSHA standards applicable to the responsibilities above.
  • Perform daily machine startup and shutdown procedures on CNC cutting equipment.
  • report equipment deficiencies.
  • Ensure production schedule follow through as allocated by the scheduling department.
  • Assist in loading and unloading team members? machines when production requires additional manpower to maintain throughput.
  • Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of cutting equipment and work area in accordance with company standards and manufactures machine recommendations.
  • Perform some machine alignment procedures and optic cleaning to keep equipment at peak operating performance.
  • Monitoring assist and resonator gas levels and recommend supply requirements for daily production.
  • Other duties assigned by Lead/Supervisor or Management.
