Job Description

Provides information for patient diagnosis and treatment by performing laboratory tests in chemistry, haematology, and microbiology laboratories; receiving, typing, testing.Essential Responsibilities and Duties :

  • Organizes work by matching computer orders with specimen labelling; sorting specimens; checking labelling; logging specimens; arranging reports for delivery.
  • collects blood samples from patient using the best method in drawing blood
  • practices proper patient identification, label vials with patient names and dates
  • Performs centrifugation of blood samples
  • Maintains quality results by running standards and controls, verifies equipment function
  • Identifies and communicates abnormal results to the appropriate personnel
  • Maintains a safe environment in the working place.
  • Maintains patient?s confidentiality.
  • Follows the facility policies and procedures
  • Wears the appropriate PPE while on duty. keeps work surfaces clean and tidy.
  • Preforms other duty as needed
