Job Description

The selected candidate will be responsible for direct supervision and coordination of the activities in Emergency Department and Critical Care Unit (CCU and ICU) and accountable for ensuring good standard of care is provided together with Senior Charge Nurse for the unit.Duties and Responsibilities includes but not limited to:

  • Develops, monitors and evaluates the established objectives set for the department.
  • Enables and ensures Scope of Services and Practice are adhered to.
  • Develops, evaluates and approves nurse staffing patterns per shift needs.
  • Provides information to support changes in staffing patterns to the Nursing Management and supervisory team.
  • Ensure that the necessary administrative and clinical policies and procedure/protocols, guidelines, forms, etc are developed and adhered to within the units, and across patient care services as a whole.
  • Identifies unsafe practice and responds appropriately to ensure a safe outcome.
  • Identifies risks, enables strategies, and guidelines to mitigate them
  • Ensures that GREEN CRESCENT RISK MATIRX is understood, followed by all staff, and updated and handed over on a daily basis.
  • Process all types of staff leaves of the department in a timely organized manner
