Job Description

Job Summary:The Logistics and Transportation Manager will be responsible for managing the transportation and logistics activities of both material (including stores) and personnel. The job holder should oversee the movement of materials, equipment, and personnel to and from project sites, as well as coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of goods and services. He will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, managing costs, and optimizing the efficiency of transportation and logistics operations.Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement transportation and logistics plans, policies, and procedures for both material and personnel.
  • Oversee the movement of materials, equipment, and personnel to and from project sites, including coordinating with suppliers, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor and manage the stores both central and at sights.
  • Monitor and manage transportation and logistics costs, including negotiating rates and managing budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including customs and transportation regulations.
  • Manage the fleet of company vehicles, including scheduling maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report on transportation and logistics performance, including key performance indicators such as on-time delivery and inventory accuracy.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize transportation and logistics operations, including identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure that transportation and logistics activities are aligned with project requirements.
