Job Description

The Gym Equipment Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that all gym equipment is functioning optimally and safely. This position involves a blend of technical skills and customer service, as the technician will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing various types of fitness equipment in gyms and fitness centers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical or electrical systems, along with a passion for fitness and wellness.Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct regular maintenance checks on gym equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
  2. Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in fitness machines.
  3. Install new gym equipment and ensure proper setup according to manufacturer specifications.
  4. Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns regarding equipment.
  5. Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and inventory of spare parts.
  6. Train gym staff on the proper use and maintenance of equipment.
  7. Stay updated on the latest fitness equipment technology and trends.
  8. Assist in the development of preventative maintenance programs.
  9. Collaborate with other technicians and staff to improve service efficiency.
  10. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Preferred Candidate:
  1. Strong technical knowledge of gym equipment mechanics and electronics.
  2. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  3. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  4. Good communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
  5. Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy equipment.
  6. Experience in customer service and client relations.
  7. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  8. Certification in fitness equipment maintenance is a plus.
  9. Strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks.
  10. Positive attitude and a passion for fitness.
