Job Description

Drive passenger cars, minibus, van, trucks or trailers to transport visitors, employees, products or materials to assigned locations and as per assigned schedule.Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.

  • Follow safety procedures for vehicle operation.
Turn in receipts and money received from deliveries.Read maps and follow written or verbal geographic directions.
  • Read maps to determine routes.
  • Receive information or instructions for performing work assignments.
Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
  • Verify information or specifications.
Load and unload trucks, vans, or automobiles.
  • Load shipments, belongings, or materials.
Drive vehicles with capacities under three tons to transport materials to and from specified destinations, such as railroad stations, plants, residences, offices, or within industrial yards.
  • Operate vehicles or material-moving equipment.
Maintain records, such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements, in accordance with regulations.
  • Record details of deliveries or shipments.
Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
  • Inspect motor vehicles.
  • Maintain vehicles in good working condition.
