Job Description

DescriptionIn this role, you will be responsible for assessing patients prior to surgery, administering anesthesia, and monitoring patients throughout procedures and in the ICU. You are a consultant anesthesiologist responsible for efficient anesthesia services. Being a Head of Anaesthesiology, this role works closely with hospital staff, department directors, and physicians to ensure the highest standards of quality and service are maintained.ÿ

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients, including medical history and physical examinations.
  • Develop individualized anesthetic plans based on patient conditions and surgical procedures.
  • Administer various types of anesthesia in surgical settings.
  • Monitor vital signs and physiological responses during procedures to ensure patient safety.
  • Oversee recovery of patients in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU).
  • Manage pain control and address any postoperative complications.
  • Provide critical care management for patients in the ICU.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Lead and participate in emergency resuscitation efforts when needed.
  • Respond to anesthesia-related emergencies and complications promptly.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding procedures and treatment options.
  • Helps in the professional development of all staff and provides teaching materials as part of the professional development of the staff;
  • Maintains a work environment that promotes high standards for patient care, customer service, and ethical behavior;
  • Undertakes all work in accordance with the procedures and operating policies, including Infection Control, Health and Safety, Risk Management etc.
