Responsible for managing the catalog of materials at a system library. Inputs data about materials into electronic catalog to ensure users can locate products ext. prepares item records for products, delivery and other requested material.Responsibilities? Categorise and classify library materials, including all supplied item.? Follow library standards and guidelines when classifying items.? Consider rules of cataloguing subject heading policies and catalogue materials in categories of advanced specialised backgrounds.? Ensure all material can be retrieved conveniently using standardised methods.? Perform original, copy cataloguing, and adapt online records according to guidelines in all subject areas and languages.? Input details about new material/ products/ items into library catalog.? Adjust rules when new type of material surfaces.? Consult with colleagues on improving cataloguing process.? Determine appropriate treatments for series or multi part items.? Organise large backlogs of materials.? Organise materials according to highest priority.? Develop and maintain parts of the catalogue that pertain to collections under specific jurisdiction.
