Role Objective / PurposeOfficer Application & Database is responsible for managing the operational support, maintenance, andÿ development activities for Alshaya Enterprises business applications.Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesGeneralÿ? Provide recommendations on new technologies that would improve the company?s performance. ? Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional ÿpublications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.ÿITÿ? Provide oversight and management to the IT Application team to deliver IT services. ? Assesses user needs to provide support and proactive service, including analysis of opportunities ÿin order to take advantage of available tools.ÿ? Keeps senior technical management informed by preparing reports on system performance and ÿproblems.ÿ? Conduct installation, configuration and maintenance of servers, network hardware and software. ? Manages cloud services obtained from relevant service provides.ÿ? Upgrades hardware and software by assessing transaction processing and database production ÿoptions.ÿ? Introduce necessary security measures to ensure that data systems are secure from data loss or ÿmisuse.ÿ? Acts as a focal point for communicating related system problems within the department and ÿcollaborates with other teams and vendors on changes, fixes, and updates.ÿ? Manages the release process for applications which includes effective department wide and end ÿuser communication.ÿ? Maintains database performance by troubleshooting problems.ÿ? Manages testing scripts and identifies opportunities for improvement.ÿ? Sets and measures performance objectives and provides regular one-on-one feedback to all ÿmembers of the team.ÿ? Addresses individual staff performance problems as needed.ÿ? Manages delivery and SLAs by guiding incident resolution, problem management, maintenance, ÿand enhancement tickets raised by the end users for assigned applications.ÿ? Develops relevant metrics, measures and publishes the performance of the services provided. ? Works closely with all other IT personnel in identifying, evaluating, selecting, and implementing ÿspecific information technologies that support the business plans and IT strategies. ? Ensure department adheres to policies and procedures that are compliant with industry and ÿregulatory policies.ÿ? Assists with the preparation of budget for IT systems and services related interfaces and ÿapplications.ÿ? Maintains a strong understanding of technology and its application to achieve business objectives. ? Provides ongoing troubleshooting, support, and maintenance of applications.
