Job Description

A leading holding company is urgently seeking to hire an Accountant to its team. Potential candidates with a valid 18 article visa and meeting the below Job description are invited to apply with your Resume and supporting Educational and Work-related documents.

  • Responsible for maintaining the General Ledger; setting up new accounts and cost centers when required; ensuring reconciliation of control accounts; ensuring correct allocation of expenditure to cost centers.
  • Responsible for monitoring NIG?s expenditure and preparing monthly actual vs budget variance analysis reports and making recommendations to the Senior Accountant in case of favorable/unfavorable variances.
  • Responsible in reviewing NIG?s financial strategy (including the use of profits and reserves) and making recommendations to the Senior Accountant where appropriate.
  • Responsible for managing of NIG?s bank accounts including NIG?s credit cards; ensuring adequate funds are available to meet expenditure requirements; ensuring excess funds are earning a reasonable rate of return; liaising on a regular basis with the NIGs bankers.
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and, quarterly management accounts and ad-hoc reports as required.
  • Responsible for reviewing, updating and implementing existing internal accounting systems and introducing new systems and controls where appropriate.
  • Responsible for maintaining computerized accounting software, ensuring the provision of adequate third party support for the software and upgrading the software where appropriate.
  • Responsible for reviewing NIGs insurance arrangements (policies and brokers); ensuring adequate insurance cover is maintained; administering NIG?s insurance policies and making claims where necessary; liaising with NIGs insurance brokers.
  • Handles the interim and annual budgeting, variance analysis and forecasting functions.
  • Protecting NIGs value by keeping information confidential.
  • Responsible for documentation and filing.
