Job Description

1.Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development.2.Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments; following hospital and nursing divisions philosophies and standards.3.Maintains accurate, detailed reports and records.4.Monitors, records and reports symptoms and changes in patients conditions.5.Documents patients medical and clinical information and health assessments in HIS6.Demonstrates skills as per the nursing general and unit specific competencies .7.Prepares patients for, and assist with, examinations and treatments.8.Provides comprehensive, safe and effective evidence based nursing care to achieve identified health outcomes. Promotes healing environment .9.Recognizes and upholds the rights of all patients accessing health services and advocate on their behalf while maintaining cultural sensitivity.10.Prepares rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies, and ensure that stock of supplies is maintained.11.Provides high level communication skills12.Plans and evaluate nursing care in consultation with the multidisciplinary health care team and patients and families using effective interpersonal communication13.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.14.Refers and co-ordinates the patients? discharge arrangements with the case manager in accordance with DSFH discharge policy15.Provide and facilitates appropriate training and ongoing support to students and less experienced health service staff within the delegated scope of practice, as and when required.16.Directs and supervises less skilled nursing/health care personnel, students and interns and visit patients to ensure that proper nursing care is provided.17.Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations18.Performs other QI responsibilities as delegated from time to time by the Nurse Manager19.Upholds quality initiatives that improve ?customer care? and enhance the interface between staff, patients and visitors20.Demonstrates awareness of personal responsibilities in relation to the maintenance of a clean and safe environment and identification of potential risks for all personnel, patients and visitors, taking action as and when required.1.Shows awareness of the role of the nurse in handling complaints in accordance with Fakeeh care policy2.Uses critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making within each step of the nursing process3.Employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment by providing the adequate education and engagement to the patient and family.4.Practices within a professional and ethical nursing framework in accordance with the nursing profession?s codes of ethics and conduct5.Accepts individuals/groups regardless of race, culture, religion, age, gender, sexual preference, physical or mental state6.Ensures that personal values and attitudes are not imposed on others7.Seeks assistance and escalates operational and clinical issues to nursing supervisor to resolve situations when needed.8.Identifies and attempts to overcome factors which may constrain ethical decisions, in consultation with the health care team.9.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies10.Contributes to annual appraisal and is responsible for own Personal Development Program.11.Assists in the development and implementation of nursing practice guidelines, standards and policies.12.Assists in the training and development students , trainees ,interns and participates in the Transition to Practice Programs for fresh graduates .13.Participates in shared-governance, decision-making structures and processes that establish standards of practice* and address opportunities for improvement.14.Promotes continu?ous, consistent, efficient, and accountable delivery of nursing care using Professional Practice Model and appropriate care delivery system.15.Provides Exemplary professional practice evi?denced by effective and efficient care services, inter-professional collaboration, and high-quality patient outcomes16.Participates in programs related to evidence-based practices and research programs and integrate evidence-based practice and research into clinical and operational processes17.Creates partnerships with patients and families to establish goals and plans for delivery of patient-centered care.18.Participates in recruitment and retention assessment and planning activities.19.Participates in the review, action planning, and evaluation of patient safety data at the unit level.20.Disseminates the organization?s nursing research findings to internal and external audiences.21.Evaluates and use evidence-based findings in their practice.22.Participates in the design and implementation of technology to enhance the patient experience and nursing practice.23.Demonstrates compassionate communication skills while providing support and care to the patients as ?the patient is the center of our care?.
