Senior Back-End Developer - ArabitsJob DetailsDivisionArabitsReporting ManagerSenior Back-End DeveloperJob LocationAbu Dhabi, UAEJob Purpose A senior back-end developer will have strong skills in solutioning,designing and implementing given product requirements. Should be strong in API and microservice development,willing to learn and demonstrate skill in a new programming language, working within multidisciplinary agile teams of developers, designers and researchers focused on products. He will provide technical leadership, working closely with the wider team to ensure delivering scalable design with high quality code is delivered in line with the project goals and delivery cycles. They will work closely with designers to deliver rapid prototypes as well as production code for which they will ensure high accessibility standards are upheld. They will be familiar with design trade-offs, modern frameworks and languages, as well as working practices such as Clean Code, TDD, BDD, continuous integration, continuous delivery and DevOps.He will be someone raising the bar within the team.Key ResponsibilitiesSystems Planning and DesignThe back-end developer will be actively engaged with the planning, design, selections and enhancements to the framework to be used for the product? Conceptualizing and solutioning the framework/product to be manufactured, making succinct prerequisites from customer meeting or market examination with guidance from TA (Technical architect)? Planning the conveyances, sprints, emphases, and assessing the assets required and the cost, organizing errands as indicated by prerequisites? Designing framework engineering? Defining the tasks needed to solve the problem.? Making application and space models? Planning and normalizing the database? Advancing plan by applying configuration designs? Picking innovation stack for building the arrangement? Designing and enhancing collaborations amongst framework and clientsProduct DevelopmentThe back-end developer will be engaged with end-to-end development tasks across the product.? Constructing the product and composing unit tests (assuming any)? A back-end engineer working within the Arabits team will be expected to demonstrate skill working with all layers of the innovation stack - it might be middleware, backend, database questions, or even (upon requirement) a front-end outline and conduct, albeit with particular focus and demonstrable track record on backend development.Documentation and Knowledge-SharingThe back-end developer will be expected to provide meticulous documentation of their work, best practices followed, processes, testing protocols, etc and to knowledge-share in these areas with the team.? Creating robotized or manual test suite to thoroughly test for bugs? Proactively advise and inform the team on best practices? Advise and assist in budgeting processEducation, Experience and Required SkillsEducational QualificationDegree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related preferredExperienceMinimum 7+ yearsEssential SkillsTechnical Skills Required? Node.js/Python/Java/c# any other object programming language? Prior experience of solutioning and designing scalable products running in production.? Strong problem-solving (individual and collaborative, systematic and workaround), analytical skills and attention to detail? Experienced on container technology like Docker and Kubernetes? Understands Micro services architecture and REST? Worked on messaging queues and brokers mainly Kafka? Experienced on DevOps methodology and tooling of CI/CD like Jenkins? Adhere to and use TDD/BDD? Outstanding ability to develop efficient, readable, highly optimized/maintainable and clear code? Follow Clean Code/Solid principles - Uncle Bob aka Robert C Martin? Mocking (any of the following Mockito, EasyMock, JMock, Spock, Jasmine, Mocha)? Experienced on database technologies mainly NoSQL like MongoDB? Ensure all software built is robust and scalable? Experience building server-side web applications? Detailed understanding and experience of front-end web development (HTML/CSS/JS)? Working knowledge of unix-like operating systems such as Linux and/or Mac OS X? Knowledge of the git version control system? Ability to quickly research and learn new programming tools and technique? Knowledge of accessibility standards and developing web products that can be used easily by users with a range of assistive technology needs? Knowledge of relational and non-relational database systems.? System administration and configuration management skills.? Node.js/JavaScript ES6 / TypeScript would provide advantage.? Native Arabic speaker with excellent Arabic language skills (grammar, etc.) and/or the ability and willingness to learn and understand such thoroughly and completely. Said developer may be asked to work with designing for Arabic natural language processing development applications (rule-based grammatical syntax analysis, part-of-speech tagging ML problems, etc) and other Arabic-specific backend engineering problems, so native knowledge of Arabic would provide a significant advantageOperational Skills? Experience presenting work at user groups, business and to peers? Communicative proficiency required in English and would be a plus in Arabic, with an ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience? Team player who can blend in effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals, respectfully accept and offer insights and suggestions to the team, knows how to take one for the team, prioritizes the team and product interest over personal and professional differences, while continuously actively seeking personal growth and development? Experience mentoring and training other developers in a non-line management capacity would be a plus? Experience mentoring or helping colleagues optimise their code would be a plus? Proactive, creative, initiator, capable of conducting independent investigations to understand how best to address development challenges, does not unnecessarily wait for inputs for low-level details which can be addressed autonomously, but appeals nonetheless to line management as and when required for approval
