Position Summary: The Business Analyst is a contributing team member and main tasks will include detailed requirements analysis, be involved in design of systems /solutions, document business processes, and perform testing on existing and new IT solutions. This position is responsible for conducting independent analysis of system effectiveness from troubleshooting to post-implementation reviews. The Business analyst is also expected to assist in training end-users, assist in system maintenance/enhancement user acceptance testing, and document supporting procedures. The Analyst should have natural analytical way of thinking and be able to explain difficult concepts to non-technical usersRequirements:

  • Education: Bachelor?s in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field.
  • Experience: At least 2 (preferably 5) years of work experience, preferably within a software development or support practice. Deep functional expertise could be considered as equivalent.
Essential Job functions and Key Accountabilities:
  • Requirements Management:
  1. Elicits, analyzes, specifies, documents and validates the business needs of stakeholders
  2. Communicate with internal colleagues to understand the needs of departments and the organization as a whole
  3. Scope requirements into actionable development projects
  4. Assist in conducting research on products to meet agreed upon requirements and to support purchasing efforts
  5. Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and/or the project team.
  6. Translates conceptual customer requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team.
  7. Manages and tracks the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle; enforce and redefine as necessary.
  8. Communicates changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements ? verbally or through written documentation ? to Steering group members, Heads of Departments, and other stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood.
  9. Develop test cases based on the requirements documents
  10. Schedule and perform testing before the system is released to the business users for User Acceptance testing
  11. Schedule and Perform user acceptance testing along with business stakeholders
  12. Lead ongoing reviews of business processes and develop optimization strategies.
  13. Serve as a liaison between stakeholders, Vendors and users.
  14. Conduct meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings.
  15. Monitor deliverables and ensure timely completion of projects.
  16. Provide guidance and/or support to the Helpdesk team
  17. Perform quality assurance
  18. Researches, reviews, and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements-gathering processes and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes.
  19. Maintain, update, merge and assist in prioritizing requirements. Present requirements to the Steering group for prioritization
  20. Perform daily, weekly and monthly reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports
  21. Conduct pilot and/or feasibility studies to assess potential solutions
  • Development Support:
  1. Plan and coordinate data migration,
  2. Inspect and track deliverables for vendor supplied solutions
  3. Ensure solution compliance with all current departmental policies and procedures
  • User Support
  1. Provide 2nd Tier support for deployed systems
  2. Writing/presenting training materials
  3. Training end users on systems
  • Ad Hoc TasksDocumenting IT procedures and policies, related the above tasking?s
