Interventional radiologists are specialists who use imaging technology and other procedures to diagnose and treat diseases. They commonly perform procedures such as angioplasty, stent placement, embolization, and the removal of kidney stones or gallstones.Interventional radiologists have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:Diagnosing and treating patients with conditions such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, or infections by inserting catheters into blood vessels to access the heart, lungs, or other organsConducting research to develop new interventional radiology techniques for treating diseasePerforming diagnostic imaging procedures such as X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasound imaging, bone density scans, and othersPreparing patients for procedures using sedatives and anesthetics as neededInterpreting test results and providing diagnosis and treatment options to patients and other healthcare professionalsDiagnosing and treating patients with cancer using radiation therapy techniques such as brachytherapy (inserting radioactive seeds into tumors), stereotactic radiosurgery (targeting small areas with high doses of radiation), and radiation therapy (delivered over time in small doses)Performing ultrasound-guided biopsies in which a needle is inserted into the body and used to obtain tissue samples for analysis.Required Skills and Qualifications:M.D. or D.O. from an accredited school of medicineBoard certified/eligible in diagnostic radiologyFellowship trained in interventional radiologyEligible for licensure in the state of CaliforniaExcellent clinical, interpersonal, and communication skillsDemonstrated commitment to patient care and customer servicePreferred Skills and Qualifications:Leadership experience in a hospital or clinical settingTeaching experienceResearch experienceExperience with minimally invasive procedure Company Profile Established in 2010, SearchPlus? main business focus is in Executive Search and Selection.
