Utilities Systems Engineer- Traffic Signal Controls & ITS Abu Dhabi , United Arab EmiratesJob SummaryExperienced in Traffic Control Systems of junctions and pedestrian junctions of Infrastructure development projectsUnderstanding of road drawings, road signage and surface marking, traffic signal near rail roads, LRT, one lane, two way and work zones. Freeway and expressway entrance rampsDesign knowledge in sensors, toll tag readers, signal timing concepts, time space diagrams, Lane control signals, traffic signal controllers, roundabout signal controls, sizing of CCTV and FOV calculationsDesign experience in TCS/ITS corridor, ducts/manholes, road crossing ducts, basic understanding of electrical infrastructure including power backup and communication design of traffic control systems including fiber optic cabling, MPLS GSM interface and TMC Hub connectivityWork closely with the transportation strategy team to carry out the traffic control signal design based on Traffic Master plan, Traffic Impact Assessment, and mobility strategyConstruction/operational knowledge of TCS and ITS systems including VSS, VMS, RVDS, LCS, OHVD, RWIS,DVMS, DVSS, AQMS and WIM systemsApproved by ITC Abudhabi(for TCS design), RTA Dubai for traffic control systems designAbility to work with design lead and follow-up the approval process interfacing with the project team, Clients and Stakeholders. In-depth and strong understanding of Abu Dhabi/Dubai/UAE is a Must, KSA and other MiddleEast projects is an added advantageExperienced in Autodesk 2D, 3D, Revit and BIM and in-depth understanding of TCS/ITS systems is a must,Strong infrastructure engineering background with previous experience on infrastructure projects with technical report writing skills and developing specifications, data sheetsPrepare Clarifications to Contractor RFIs, Review/approve any key technical submittals related to plantsWork towards digitalization skills, innovations, and improvements to manage workload and accomplish deliverables across individuals, teams, and projectsAble to work with multiple teams with diverse backgrounds on geographically and culturally diverse teamsPerforms specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.Identifies discrepancies in results.Provides guidance to entry level engineers.Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.Minimum RequirementsDesign of Traffic Control Systems, Signalized Junctions, tunnels, toll booths and Intelligent transportation systems using Civil3D and RevitExperience and skills including ProjectWise, Infraworks, Navisworks, BIM etcPreferred Qualifications* Minimum Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent, 3-5 years of experience in Traffic controls and ITS of Infrastructure design only.What We OfferWe will give you the flexibility you need to do your best work with hybrid work options.
