Job Description

Position OverviewThe Utilities Inspector will obtain the required NOCs and permit to work from different Authorities &Stakeholders and will coordinate the same with the Construction works. He should work closely with the Surveyors, Inspectors and Materials Engineer and reports to the RE throughout the project with specific duties to the work on the road and infrastructure works.Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and liaise with utility agency representatives and Contractor with regard to all Construction approvals, design changes, and shutdowns of existing services, as necessary.
  • Coordinate and provide meeting minutes for all preconstruction utilities meetings.
  • Provide general oversight of the Contractor?s inspection, surveying, and testing requests for utilities works.?
  • Review and approve the Contractor?s utility shop drawings as delegated by the RE.
  • Monitor the status of all utilities? no objection certificates (NOCs) to ensure that they are current.
  • Prepare utilities meeting minutes.?
  • Coordinate and monitor all inspection, testing, and materials reconciliation required to commission all newly constructed or relocated utilities in order to obtain final NOCs.
  • Review as built utility drawings in coordination with inspectors and surveyors.
  • Coordinate his direct activities with the other discipline to maintain consistency and integrity in the overall construction works.
  • Coordinate with the Contractor on scheduling and application of Construction NOCs and Permit to work.
  • Coordinate with the Contractor and related concerned authorities.
  • Advise on permit matters regarding road work, utilities diversions and installations, traffic diversions and other related works.
  • supervise, review, monitor and report on progress of the NOCs and PTWs.
  • Liaise with all parties for site safety and awareness of Authorities requirements.
  • Practice regular site meetings about issues related to utilities diversions, road work and related activities.
  • Act positively and participate in health and safety issues at site, as required by the Resident Engineer, and the Project Safety Representative.
  • Comply with safety, health and risk management requirements.
  • Report back as necessary to the Resident Engineer.
  • Ensure in NOC processing
  • Prepare NOCs log reports as applicable.
