Job Description

Position OverviewThe Senior On-Track Equipment Operator operates the On-Track Equipment such as tampers, dynamic stabilizers, ballast distribution system, ballast regulators, sand removal machines and other associated machines. In addition, performs operators maintenance on the machines. Essential Job Functions Works under the instruction of the On-Track Equipment Production Supervisor & Foreman Operates the equipment in accordance with the operating manual and specifications Responsible for the equipment Performs operators maintenance on the equipment in accordance with the maintenance schedules as per manufacturers specifications Ensures all activities are performed safely, within relevant regulatory and company requirements, and in accordance with HSEC standards Conducts PS, PIC and WS duties Trains and instructs trainees on the operation of the on-track equipment Safety Responsibilities To comply with those elements of the companys environment, health and safety management system and other company documents where specific responsibility is identified with the role or as a general requirement on all employeesSecurityEmployees are responsible for:

  • Being aware of the current policies and procedures and their responsibilities for protecting corporate assets;
  • Using corporate resources only for intended purposes as defined by policies and procedures of Etihad Rail;
  • Being accountable for their actions relating to their use of all assets.
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience Academic Qualifications
  • School Certificate or higher
Professional Qualifications
  • Certificate of competence to operate trains
  • Recognized competence to operate and maintain on-track equipment as listed above
  • Knowledge of Track Geometry
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, electric and pneumatic systems and diesel engines
  • Full driving license
Experience
  • Relevant industry experience
Other skills and abilities
  • English as first language or advanced level of written and verbal skill
  • Ability to operate highly concentrated and accurately especially under stress of deadlines
  • Ability to operate independently under minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a multicultural team
