Job Description

Senior Environmental Engineer?Abu Dhabi, UAEJob Responsibilities:

  • Report on environmental compliance contractor performance
  • Assess environmental inspections on construction projects.
  • Liaise with internal and external site-based staff to increase environmental awareness and keep site staff informed on environmental requirements and risks
  • Ensure compliance to all environmental requirements as per the statutory guidelines and regulations and as per the EAD NOCs
  • Report environmental related incidents and issues to Management in an efficient way
  • Providing assistance to internal and external auditors during environmental audits.
  • Supporting the promotion of a ?Zero Accidents? philosophy throughout the Programme Management Division
  • Ensure that all construction activities are carried out in a environmentally safe manner and in adherence to the company Environmental policy, statutory regulations and guidelines onsite.
  • Adhere with section/department KPI?s as set by ETS HSE scorecard and corporate HSE.
  • Review Contractors? Environmental Plan, procedures and any Environment related documents and within agreed timeframe.
  • Take part in all Environmental accident/incident/near miss investigations relating to any construction related incident and ensure timely reporting of incidents.
  • Monitor work practices utilized by Contractors to ascertain compliance with the company HSE plan and applicable to AD EHSMS.
  • Able to communicate the importance of a practical environmentally safe work environment and remaining aware of the legal compliance in all areas of works and to all levels of the business.
  • Evaluate the workplace environment and develop environment management practices that identify and define the responsibilities of all companies and personnel.
  • Promotes environmental stewardship while maintaining compliance in all areas of the Projects through conformance with identified environmental requirements.
  • Monitor, in accordance with the company guidelines, the implementation, updating, review and auditing of the Environmental Management systems.
  • Work closely with the ETS to ensure Environmental standards are followed and understood.
  • Handle/coordinate the daily operation and logistical aspect of waste management.
  • Ensure that information on the handling of substances and the precaution to be taken is made available to all users of the materials including MSDS.
  • Monitor and assess any hazardous and unsafe situations and report to HSE section Head.
  • Perform other environmental-related duties as assigned.
