Senior Engineer, Static Equipment

Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:Provide technical expertise in the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul and shutdowns to maintain static equipment effectively and efficiently to achieve high degree of availability, reliability and integrity for refinery operation.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESJob Specific Accountabilities

• Supervise the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting and modification activities of static equipment in the plant toensure safe and efficient services.
• Review preventive maintenance plans / schedules and prepare task list / maintenance programmes for static equipment in the plant and supervise the execution of such programmes.
• Provide guidance and advice on actions to be taken on chronic problems, and review requirement for major repair and spares replacements to ensure that all equipment is in accordance with internationally recognized engineering standard.
• Participate in Risk Assessment exercises and prepare recommendations and guidelines to address the findings.
• Ensure availability of spares, coordinate and follow up new material orders. Create new proposal for stocking spares (PFS) mainly for new equipment, create item change request, spare parts control, and delete unwanted inventories from the stock.
• Prepare new maintenance procedures, method statement for new activities and schedule long term activities as per plant shutdown schedules.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance activities with other departments and sections to optimize the utilization of section manpower and to plan and control the major & minor shutdown activities and expenditures.
• Provide technical support for development, implementation and commissioning of new projects in the mechanical design and specifications to optimize costs and ensure compliance with applicable standards and best practices.
• Prepare new plant change requests (PCR), study the proposed PCR for implementation and work out plans and schedules for implementing them.
• Perform other similar or related duties, as required.

• Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
• Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.

Budgets

• Provide input for preparation of the Department budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives
• Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

• Implement approved Section / Department policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Section?s / Department work programs in line with Company and International standards.

Performance Management

• Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Section / Department in line with the Company Performance framework.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

• Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
• Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability

• Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices

Reports

• Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management.

COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:Internal

• Direct Supervisor to provide information and take directions
• Direct reports, if any to receive information and supervise work
• Various employees (up to section leader level) in the refinery / company to exchange information and coordinate work.

External

• OPCOs for sharing information and discussing joint problems.
• Consultants, Contractors, etc. for exchanging information on studies, work progress, etc. and for coordinating related project activities.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:Minimum Qualification

• B.Sc. in Mechanical in Engineering or equivalent Professional Qualification

Minimum Experience & Knowledge

• 8 years of experience engineering and maintenance of Static equipment with full knowledge of HSE in a plant environment within a large industrial organization, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry

Skills

• Familiarity with CMMMS (Maximo preferred)
• Familiarity withReliability Centered Maintenance (RCM)techniques
• Analytical & precise communication skills
• Very good spoken and written English. Knowledge of Arabic is preferable.
