Job Description

ABOUT THE COMPANY:We are one of ADNOCs gas producers, a market leader in sour gas field development, and a major international sulfur producer. We have the capacity to produce over 1 billion cubic feet of sour gas per day.We are a joint venture company between ADNOC, which owns a 60% share, and Occidental Petroleum (OXY), which owns a 40% share. We were established in 2010 to maximize the value of the Shah Gas Field. Since then, we have built a reputation as a reliable supplier of gas and one of the worlds leading sulfur producers.We are helping to deliver ADNOCs strategic imperative to increase the gas supply to the UAE. We aim to meet the growing gas requirements of the nation, and strengthen our position as a major international sulfur producer.about the role:Develop safety objectives, systems, standards, procedures and practices to ensure desired and tailored solutions are provided to support safe operations, projects and activities for the company assets. Advise on the safety aspects, tools, policies, procedures, etc. in the COMPANY to eliminate / minimize any hazardous impact on industrial activities in the organization.Provide technical safety & process safety support to all Company Divisions on activities carried out by or on behalf of the COMPANY, for assets under the direct or indirect control of COMPANY.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:Job Specific Accountabilities

• Ensure the timely identification of HSE hazards, evaluation of risks for all activities and development of effective tools to manage and reduce these risks to ALARP.
• Participate in HEMP studies/reviews i.e., HAZOP, HAZID HAZEER, ENVID, SIL, QRA etc..
• Participate in PFD and P&ID reviews for complex systems.
• Review / provide input to the development and maintenance of HSE Impact Assessments (HSEIA) Screening Studies, HSEIAs, COMAH Reports and HSE Dossiers for Major Hazard sites.
• Lead / participate in Project HSE Reviews (PHSERs) during all stages of the project lifecycle.
• Identify and develop the scope and deliverables of Safety studies, and contribute to HSE projects, to ensure preparedness of the respective plans and predefined outputs.
• Maintain the Company Model on Dynamic Risk Management.
• Maintain the HSE Governance Risk Register.

Process Safety

• Ensure Process Safety principles and best practices are implemented early in the design phase and carried through to facility completion and operation
• Ensure that HSE requirements are being considered during management of change processes and are implemented for all phases of the project and operations
• Recommend and advise on the safety aspects for any technical failures to ensure addressing the safety barriers in the future design or activities.
• Review CONTRACTOR Process Safety documentation to ensure it complies with COMPANY requirements, contractual agreements & ADNOC Standards
• Provide input to leading and lagging Process Safety performance measures
• Support the development & implementation of a Process Safety Learning & Development program through updating the lessons learned register & preparation of safety moments
• Update the safety industry trends and technology, assess and recommend customized and tailored solutions and recommendations to enhance the Companys Safety profile.
• Lead / participate in process safety & HSECES integrity assurance activities & audits
• Support the classification of process safety events.
• Participate in incident investigations associated with process safety events
• Provide process safety input to Annual HSE Management reviews

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Minimum Qualification

• Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering or any related engineering fields.

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

• 8 years of experience, including at least 4 years as Safety Engineer.
• Experience in Risk Assessment Studies i.e. TRA, HAZID, HAZOPS, PSSR, HSEIA, etc. Hands-on Management Systems, Safety Design, Aspect & Impact Studies, and Project Management.
• NEBOSH / NIOSH NPG
• Function Safety Engineer / Professional
• HAZOP Practitioner / Chairman
