Job Description

SEN Teacher - UAE NationalWe are currently recruiting for a Special Education Needs (SEN) Teacher to join our Student Support Services Department at CIS Abu Dhabi.The main role and responsibilities of this job include:

  • Assessing and recording childrens needs and progress.
  • Helping students to cope with and overcome problems that arise because of impairments or learning difficulties.
  • Developing and fostering the appropriate skills and social abilities to enable the optimum development of students.
  • Encouraging students to develop self-confidence and independence, and to reach their potential.
  • Setting specific, time-related targets for each child and liaising with parents and education professionals.
  • Teaching the children, either in a separate room or within a group of students with needs.
  • Advising class teachers about adapting the curriculum, teaching strategies, suitable textbooks, information technology and software and other related matters.
  • Meeting and advising parents.
  • Liaising with other professionals such as our behavior therapist and speech and language therapist.
  • Adapting conventional teaching methods to meet individual needs.
  • Using audio-visual materials and computers to stimulate interest and learning.
  • Planning and delivering lessons, setting and marking assignments.
