Job Description

IntroductionIBM Security Consulting (SIOC) team takes a holistic approach to building and operating cyber security and response solutions and capabilities that support the cyber threat management and regulatory compliance needs of the world?s largest enterprises. Our team combines robust methodologies for security intelligence and operations with industry-experienced consultants and market-leading technology.Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Review, manage, issue Intelligence briefings and disseminate ad/hoc, regular, cyber threat intelligence reports based on 3rd party advisories and feeds to address identified and emerging threats.
  • Oversee and handle procedures and operations management, Utilize Kill Chain, and MITRE ATT&CK methodologies to identify where in the security apparatus to apply a customized rule to detect the attack
  • Identify and classify cyber threats facing the organization, map the adversary?s objective to which company assets that are likely to be targeted and translate which cyber threats are possible against the company?s environment and prioritize based on impact and likelihood
  • Conduct regular and ad hoc threat hunting activities utilizing the existing SIEM only
  • Oversee and handle Use Case Management life-cycle
  • Publish internal Situational Awareness alerts (i.e. non-actionable intelligence)
  • Advanced Security analysis/triage and incident handling across a complex network
  • Use case development of detection analytics
  • Participate as a member of the CSIRT to respond to security incidents
  • Proactive threat hunting using a hypothesis-based approach using SIEM, EDR and other technologies.
  • Research of current threats and trends affecting and organization and an industry
  • Work with the red team to identify gaps or weaknesses in security coverage
  • Create threat hunting use cases through security research and threat intelligence
  • Introduce advanced hunting techniques through big data analysis
  • Communicate with stakeholders to identify crown jewels and gather requirements for threat hunts
Required Technical and Professional ExpertiseExperience in Creating Target Operating Models (including activities, roles and responsibilities, and integrations with activities by other departments/vendors) for SOCsCreating Security Incident Response Processes (including governance structures)Prioritising attack categories and writing attack playbooks (all tailored towards an organisation)Designing SIEM use casesCreating dashboard reports tailored towards the audience (varying from board/management level to analysts)Knows MITRE ATT&CK, Purple teaming and Threat intelligenceConduct workshops, presentations.Holds below certifications:1- Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)2- Any of these: GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA), GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner (GFCE), GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA), GIAC Continuous Monitoring (GMON), GIAC Defending Advanced Threats (GDAT), GIAC Certified Detection Analyst (GCDA)Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise?
