Job Description

AtkinsRalis is offering an exciting full-time opportunity for a Resident Engineer (Electrical/OHL) based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of 7 years of experience, including at least 5 years in Engineering and Design review, ideally with a background in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Oman.The candidate will work in a fast-paced consulting environment with excellent career growth opportunities.ResponsibilitiesWorking in collaboration with the Electrical team to prepare the following deliverables / provide the following engineering services (non-exhaustive list):

  • Performing Engineering and Design review of Base and Detail design as submitted by contractors as stated below:
  • Review of Vendor material / technical submittals like Conductor, OPGW, Insulators, Hardware, Grounding etc
  • Review of Sag and tension calculations
  • Review of Transmission line route selection
  • Review of Plan and Profile, Tower structure list
  • Review of damping study for vibration dampers
  • Review of Method statements like Tower erection, Stringing, Testing and commissioning etc
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, from a recognized institution (Masters degree in power systems, an asset);
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience, including at least 5 years in Engineering and Design review, ideally with a background in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Oman. , particularly related to power stations and/or substations;
  • Exceptional academic and professional record;
  • International standards like IEC, ASTM, AISC, ASCE, ACI, IEEE etc and Utility standards like Saudi Electricity, Transco, DEWA etc
  • Knowledge to use PLSCAD, AUTOCAD etc.
  • Familiar with OHTL clearance calculations, conductor selection, grounding, shielding, fault current calculations, bundling of conductor etc
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities with a focus achieving results;
  • Team player with great interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
  • Client focused, highly autonomous, and ability to work under pressure;
  • Comprehensive understanding of power system fundamentals;
