Job Description

JOB SUMMARYThe Quantity Surveyor is responsible for cost estimation, contract administration, and financial control throughout the project lifecycle. This role involves quantity take-offs, rate analysis, bid preparation, payment processing, and variation claims to ensure cost efficiency and contractual compliance. The Quantity Surveyor collaborates with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to manage project budgets and financial documentation effectively.RESPONSIBILITIESPre-Contract Stage:Conduct quantity take-offs for all civil elements using AutoCAD based on pricing preambles and compiling the Tender BOQ with descriptionAnalyze labor, material, and plant (fixed and variable) costs to develop rate breakdowns and pricing strategies while also analyzing direct and indirect cost for the BOQ items.Maintain a database of vendors and suppliers, floating inquiries to subcontractors for pricing and procurement.Evaluate and compare bid quotations, clarifying exclusions and qualifications in tender offer submissions.Assist in the compilation and submission of bid proposals, ensuring compliance with contract requirements.Post-Contract Stage:Prepare and agree on payment applications/valuations to ensure timely receipt of payments per contract terms.Maintain logs for claims and variations, negotiating and agreeing on change orders.Prepare and compile variation claim documents with supporting evidence for approval.Prepare and finalize subcontractor payment applications based on work progress and contract terms.Attend progress meetings, provide cost projections and updates to clients as required.Prepare payment application/progress payment claim against value of work done for measured works, variations/change orders, material on-site/off-site, fluctuations, special payments in accordance with contractCompile and submit final account payment applications, ensuring compliance with contract obligations.Submit monthly payments certificates QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in quantity surveying.Minimum of 3 years of experience in quantity surveying in the UAEIn-depth knowledge of QCS, SMM, Local Chamber of Commerce regulations, and FIDIC contract forms.Strong experience in quantification, costing, estimation, tendering, subcontract procurement, and contract administration.Proficiency in AutoCAD, Primavera, Planswift, and MS Office.
