Job Description

Position: QA/QC Welding Inspectors for Saudi Aramco Projects Education:- Mechanical Welding Inspectors shall have a bachelors degree in a relevant Engineering discipline or a Diploma of Associate engineering in a relevant discipline.Training / Qualifications

  • Computed Based Testing (CBT) approval with passed status in Welding & NDT discipline.
  • CSWIP 3.1/3.2/AWS Certification.
  • Training, Experience, and Certification in the relevant discipline, for which they are qualified to work. Be familiar with applicable engineering standards and codes that will be used during QC surveillance activities in onshore and offshore fabrication projects.
Experience
  • Previous Saudi Aramco approvals for the discipline categories.
  • Possessing 8000 series SAP No.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in relevant discipline.
  • Good experience in Structural Fabrication such as Jackets, Platforms, Decks, Skids & Manifolds, etc. in yard-based facilities.
Technical Knowledge / Skills
  • Ability to coordinate with clients for the preparations and inspection, as per the agreed scope of work or inspection plan.
  • Ability to make judgments on the inspection findings.
  • Good communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Possesses and applies risk-based thinking and works in compliance with SGS Safety rules and obligations.
Responsibilities
  • Organize and execute inspection jobs with professionalism.
  • Executes the specific inspections on materials, equipment, and construction/installation activities on site.
  • Issues the relevant Quality Records and, when necessary, writes and sends to QC Supervisor non-conformances reports.
  • Check conformity with the Quality Control Plan, obtain the relevant documentation, check procedures and equipment to be used in tests, controls, and inspections, and manage documents certifying tests, controls, and inspections.
  • Ensure the correct implementation of the approved Inspection Test Plan.
  • Verify special processes and the relevant workers qualifications.
  • Checks power transformers, switchboard, accumulator battery, sockets outlet, lighting system, Remote terminal unit, instruments, cables, tunings, etc.
  • Performs visual inspections, and dimensional tests, and checks rating and material for connection.
  • Execute Inspection, interpret results, and prepare daily reports.
  • Ensure the best quality of execution.
  • Any other duties and tasks, as assigned by QC Supervisors and Managers on the project.
  • Operate to the highest standards of ethics, by the SGS Statement of Integrity.
