Job Description

Main Purpose of the Job:

  • Mott MacDonald is looking for an Engineer Materials to ensure that all materials used in the project are compliant with the projects specifications and approved by all relevant authorities.
Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:
  • Review and approval of the contractors proposed materials and methods as instructed by the Project Director (PD) and Resident Engineers (REs)
  • General oversight of the contractors daily activities including works assignments, on-site performance and guidance on the contractors operations.
  • Attend and lead inspections on site as required
  • Follow up testing and approvals from the relevant authorities
  • Review of contractors testing requests and following completed reports.
  • Review and approve the contractors submissions
  • Monitor the performance of material delivery and accuracy of materials used on site
  • Coordination with contractors supervisory personnel regarding schedule, sequence and method of work
  • Ensure and monitory compliance with the contractors schedule
  • Continuous field inspections of the work in the progress consultation with both the Project Principal and Contractors supervision staff
  • Preparation of reports to the PD and REs on contractual and procedural matters
Candidate Specification
  • Minimum Bachelors qualified with an engineering degree in a relevant discipline from an internationally accredited university
  • Experience of working on large infrastructure and housing/residential project
  • Good knowledge of materials standards adhered to in Abu Dhabi
