Manager Network Cargo Safety and Compliance Manager Network Cargo Safety and Compliance Location: Abu Dhabi, AE #job-location.job-location-inline { display: inline; }SynopsisDrives the continuous improvement of the corporate Safety Management System (SMS) for Etihad Network Cargo Operations and is responsible for managing, developing, mentoring and supporting all safety & compliance programs and initiatives, in conjunction with, and as directed by Ground Operations HQ and the business.Accountabilities

• Responsible for maintaining a holistic overview of all Cargo related safety & compliance related mandates across the Etihad Network including AUH Hub and leads initiatives to drive the fundamentals of Safety Management Systems (SMS) with Network Cargo teams and contracted suppliers.
• Responsible for supporting all corporate audits (Internal Audit, S&Q, Regulatory etc.) within the region or Hub. Will provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) guidance to the airport management in preparing for audits and will drive the closure of audit findings within defined timescales and as per company standards
• Drive the delivery of a robust SMS across Network Cargo Operations in collaboration with Regional Cargo Handling Managers providing support, coaching, training and station safety reviews. Ensuring engagement with contracted suppliers to develop a strong reporting culture
• Ensure compliance with annual risk based Cargo Compliance Check assessment/schedule and EY staff training records
• Leads the implementation of new policies, procedures and initiatives related to operational safety and compliance management. Will embed local procedures where the company standard is not applicable or enforceable
• Acts as SME for any queries, event follow up and associated activities from AVSEC, Corporate S&Q, Flight Safety, Fuel management, catering, Load Control and Cargo teams
• Responsible for investigating level 2 safety incidents, whilst liaising closely with relevant HQ departments as applicable. Maintains accountability for embedding sustainable corrective actions into the business locally and regionally, as assigned
• Identify and mitigate safety risks associated with change management, conducting hazard identification and risk assessments as required. e.g. new freighter station operations.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationship with the Cargo Management team ensuring consistent application to standard operating procedures.
• Responsible for assisting airports with the investigation of ground safety incidents on site (where applicable) and for ensuring that subsequent corrective actions are implemented fully
• Liaises with contracted suppliers and acts as a support conduit for HQ in the delivery and completion of GHA technical evaluations and subsequent output.
• Ensure delivery of continuous improvement in safety and compliance performance through agreed measures and indicators. Develop scorecard to monitor and promote strong safety performance.

Education & Experience

• Degree level education is preferred or 8-10 years? knowledge of airport operations gained with an airline or ground handling agency, with minimum 2 years? experience in airline safety management.
• Minimum Diploma or relevant licence/certifications
• Technical training including Dangerous Goods training and Fuel oversight
• A knowledge of airline weight and balance activities.
