Job Description

This position is responsible for reviewing ADIOs financial statements, documents, data, and accounting entries to ensure accuracy and adherence with the regulatory laws. It is accountable for providing guidance and expertise for updating existing and developing new standards in order to increase accounting accuracy and integrity.Key responsibilities:

  1. Review ADIOs financial statements, documents, data such as accounting entries, cash flow statements, income statements and balance sheets to ensure the accurate and flawless accounting process that is aligned with the ADIOs governance and law
  2. Review accounts receivable, invoices, vendor payments, and billing procedures to ensure compliance with accounting guidelines
  3. Use analytical skills to assess accounting and financial reports by testing the documentation of transactions and sharing observation of inventory and the processes used for managing inventory counts and share the analyses
  4. Review ADIO portfolio companies performance vs IPA targets and preparing performance reports
  5. Manage disbursement of incentives and rebates for all programs/ projects managed by ADIO
  6. Monitor the incentive compatibility with financial regulations to encourage prudent behaviour and efficient financial intermediation
  7. Provide guidance and suggest changes to internal controls and financial reporting procedures to enhance the ADIOs financial procedures efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and overall performance. Leverage expertise to develop new standards of practice for the section in order to increase accounting accuracy and integrity
  8. Provide expert opinion and information necessary to correct errors and accounting fraud to the office director and Director General. Also provide support in implementing the changes to accounting or finance policies or procedures in a company as required
  9. Review and evaluate figures, documents, and account details effectively and timely for auditing, such as cash flow data, income statements, and tax returns
  10. Provides expert opinion on financial control by collecting, analysing, and summarizing data and trends
  11. Assesses risks and internal controls by identifying areas of non-compliance. Assists stakeholders in determining figures, valuations, and projections
  12. Share expertise and analyse adherence with budgetary standards and guidelines using financial data and balance sheets
  13. Share insights on ADIOs profitable holdings and obligations by reviewing databases and other financial sources of information
  14. Advises on fiscal policy interpretation, precedents, and impact of changes on the overall financial procedures and processes
  15. Liaise and communicate with section head on the portfolio strategy, direction, optimization opportunities and required changes
  16. Perform any other duties as requested by the reporting manager
Administrative responsibilities:
  1. Propose and communicate KPIs for the section and its employees and ensure they are in line with sector and ADIO strategic goals
  2. Contribute to planning and selection of manpower in the section, in line with business and operational plans. Ensure high level of employee engagement and capability development by providing on-going feedback and coaching team members within the section and overseeing their training & development needs
  3. Develop the sections budget and monitor budget spend in coordination with relevant office. Provide guidance to direct line reports on budget optimization opportunities where applicable
Organizational responsibilities:
  1. Ensure compliance of the section to the guidelines defined by HR, legal and risk in addition to ADIOs framework
  2. Assist to develop and ensure sections compliance to the policies and procedures within ADIO
  3. Lead the development of all periodic reports for the section and provide input into the sector/offices periodic reports
  4. Own/ drive change management activities pertaining to the section and ensure stakeholder communications are as per the approved plan
  5. Proactively identify and seek professional development opportunities to improve leadership, behavioral and technical skills pertaining to the direct line of work
  6. Provide expert technical support as required by senior management in the event of an emergency in order to enable preparedness, achieve effective rapid response, ensure emergency recovery, enhance organizational agility and resilience, and promote business continuity
Qualifications:Bachelors degree in finance or accounting Certifications is a must (CA, ACCA, CPA)Experience Required:6 to 8 years of experience required
