Job Description

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:Independently develops and/or supervises the creation of Mechanical engineering designs for Mechanical systems and pressurized networks for large and mega infrastructure projects that meet customer quality requirements and international as well as Local Authority regulations and standards.This includes defining the problem, establishing the work scope, preparing the budget and schedule, planning the work, providing technical direction, and reporting the work status.Shall be responsible for liaising with Authorities such as DM, DEWA -WD, SEWA, ADM, ADSSC, SMDD, DCD, for obtaining Detailed Design Approvals, Network Approvals, Consumption utilities demands, , Building permit approvals, DCD approvals, NOCs and all related designs preparations.

• Verifying clash analysis and resolving the clashes in 3D models.
• May function as discipline Project Engineer on medium to large projects, assuming responsibility for the work of the group.
• May plan, direct, and supervise the work of a major engineering unit or project requiring a largescale expenditure of manpower and financial investment.
• Leads other Engineers and design personnel in technical excellence and growth in the Quality Improvement Process.
• Provides technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.
• Ensures compliance of design with all applicable codes and regulations, providing the seal and signature of the professional engineer when required by statute or contract.
• Prepares material/equipment specifications and purchase requisitions; reviews supplier data; witnesses shop tests, assists with assessing supplier manufacturing capabilities.
• Develops operation and maintenance plans; develops standard operating procedures; prepares O & M manuals and may conduct onsite training of personnel.
• Conducts surveys, studies, and site investigations. Performs reliability, availability, maintenance (RAM) and safety analyses.
• Maintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies.
• Helps determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule.May assist with other administrative and technical duties.
• Recommends and prepares technical papers.
• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
• Design of mechanical equipment for Sewerage Treatment Plants, Reverse Osmosis Plants and various Storm water, Sewage, Irrigation Pumping Stations.
• Preparation of design reports, specifications, tender documents and securing design approvals for different project phases including coordination with client/authorities/sub consultants.
• Review of design reports prepared by other consultants and preparation of design review reports
• Preparation of technical proposals and estimation for projects, Technical Evaluation of Bids and preparation of evaluation reports.
• Coordination with all local authorities of GCC Region
• Carrying out Value Engineering for various technical options and preparing Value Engineering reports with recommendations.
• Preparing Clarifications to Contractor RFIs, Review/approve key technical submittals related to Mechanical works and dry utilities.
• Preparing master plans from Concept stage to Detailed Master Plan stage in terms of utility corridor space proofing, defining ROW requirements, coordination for wet utilities, with roads, transportation, landscape and building design teams
• Develop Master plan report, derive utility demand load calculations, sizing major equipment and selective protection coordination, tie in point requirements, Full understanding of wet utilities and infrastructure projects from Concept to IFC stage
