1.? Job PurposeResponsible for assisting in dive operations in the exhibits, the acquisition, quarantine and daily care of a living collection of aquatic and terrestrial organisms at The National Aquarium.2.? Nature & ScopeThe job holder will be responsible for the daily care of the exhibits environment within the National Aquarium which revolve around day-to-day diving duties. They will be responsible for the dive shows and presentations within the main tank.3.? ?DimensionsUndertake daily diving duties to ensure optimal conditions for animals within exhibits.4.? ?Principal Accountabilities? Follow established written standards and protocols for all exhibits to ensure the highest standards for water quality, operational efficiency, cleanliness and animal health? Perform daily activities related to cleaning, maintenance, feeding and other husbandry activities required on a day-to-day basis, including routine checking of all aquarium exhibits and LSS areas of designated tanks.? Working close with the dive manager to ensure equipment maintenance is to a high standard of maintenance and cleanliness.? Assists the Dive Manager in maintaining an inventory of supplies and equipment.? Report to the Veterinarian any abnormalities regarding animal health.? Work as a team with Guest Services and Front of House to provide a quality experience for guests and a safe and comfortable work environment for staff through continuous maintenance and improvement of visitor and behind-the-scenes spaces.? Assist in ongoing aquarium research projects, both internally and externally? Maintaining documentation and databases for diving, livestock (animal health and behaviour, acquisitions and mortalities), water quality, etc, where asked.? Carry any other duties assigned by Dive Manager.
