Job Description

The RoleThis is a newly created greenfield role, within a leading energy Group based in the UAE. They are looking to grow their inhouse communications function, with the hire of a senior financial communications professional, who is able to both lead strategically, as well as handle delivery.Reporting to the CEO and working alongside a senior corporate communications and investor relations professional, you will have significant exposure to supporting M&A and disposals activity as well as handling financial results announcements.The desire is that the company will further build its brand and reputation within the financial community both locally and internationally, so least 15 years of financial communications experience is essential, although a deep knowledge of the energy sector isnt required.This is an exceptionally exciting time for this business, who have an ambitious global acquisitions strategy that will be rolled out over the coming years.Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver strategic, integrated communications across key media channels
  • Manage pre and post results, with the ability to review, interpret and provide client recommendations
  • Handle large stories in the media and develop strategic thinking around their corporate positioning
  • Generate ideas and driving media campaigns and present to C-Suite level executives with confidence
  • Articulate key messages and guide senior executives to deliver on message press and analyst coverage
  • Prepare and manage media materials
  • Track engagement across various platforms and make data-driven decisions
  • Assist with the preparation of the Annual Investor meeting and other key investor events
Essential Experience:
  • It is ESSENTIAL that applicants have15+ years Financial and Corporate PR agency or inhouse experience, advising mid and large cap listed companies as well as high profile privately owned firms.
  • You must have supported M&A activity and financial results announcements and therefore understand how to communicate with the media and other key audiences during such events.
Other Required Experience
  • Creative, ambitious and confident enough to deal with a challenging internal and external audience at all levels
  • An effective team player with a collaborative yet pragmatic approach to working
  • An interest in the energy sector
  • Highly engaged and credible networker with proven and established contacts amongst the advisory community in Europe and US
  • Experience in issues management / crisis communications
  • Significant experience in media relations at an international level, either from an agency or in-house environment
  • Proven writing skills; capable of working to a high-quality level and at pace
Skills & Competencies Sought:
  • Able to drive forward initiatives and deliver on outcomes without oversight
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluent in English (essential)
  • Ability to distil complex ideas quickly
  • Straightforward and concise communication style
  • Additional language skills, particularly Arabic are a plus
  • Superb attention to detail
  • Excellent influencing and networking skills
