Job Description

A new opportunity has come with a well-known healthcare institution. Our client is looking for a hands-on Data Scientist - Healthcare who is passionate about data and wants to apply Machine Learning/ Deep Learning techniques to solve real world problems which will positively impact the business of ours and our clients. You will work within the AI team and deliver high-quality AI models across a broad spectrum of and analytics. You will work on all aspects of modeling including data acquisition from diverse sources, data exploration, feature engineering, evaluating algorithms /architectures and deploying the models iteratively to improve the final solution.Other responsibilities will include:

  • Understand the practical scope of the AI models within the products
  • Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes
  • Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data
  • Build and finetune models- Network architectures or classical ML models
  • Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges
  • Collaborate with Engineering and DevOps teams for deployment
  • Proactively advice on best practices from academia and industry
  • Contribute to the teams research activities
RequirementsTo be considered for this role, you need to meet the following criteria:
  • PhD or MS degree from premier schools
  • A minimum of 4 years in the industry as a Data Scientist
  • Demonstrable experience in theory and applied areas of Machine Learning/ Deep Learning
  • Experience in developing pipelines for both structured and unstructured data
  • Working knowledge in applied NLP, such as Information Retrieval, Machine comprehension, Conversational AI
  • Comfortable with building models at scale using numeric and logs data using Spark MLlib/ H2O
  • Practice with Deep Learning libraries e.g., Tensorflow, PyTorch
  • Seasoned programming skills in Python, Java, R
  • Good experience in RESTifying APIs and Dockerization
  • Extensive Practice in writing good code using suitable data structures
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Broad experience working with Healthcare/ Educational/ Finance data sets are encouraged
  • Self-motivation and the appetite to build novel solutions or algorithms
Please note that this role is on a 1 year fixed term contract.
